At that time, I was working in “corporate America” as a successful (but unfulfilled) Business Analyst. By normal measures, I had created a nice life for myself. A job with great pay and benefits, a truck, and I had just completed the purchase of my first house. And, I was ready to get something that I had dreamed of since being a little kid…my own dog!
Little did I know that the little nine pound black bundle of fur would change my life forever! I named him Tuckerman…after my favorite hiking area; Tuckerman’s Ravine on Mount Washington.
Almost immediately, I struggled with leaving him all day to go to work. More importantly, I never felt that I had a great place to go for him…to talk to someone about proper dog nutrition, a nice atmosphere, a place where I truly felt that people genuinely cared about Tuck and I. The big box chains left so much to be desired. It made me think that there must be so many other pet “parents” just like me who would appreciate a great place to visit and shop. The idea for Appalachian Tails was born…
I am so proud of the fact that we have become a valuable partner for thousands of pet owners ever since.
The Team of people who operate Appalachian Tails with me is truly extraordinary. I’ve come to realize that they are, in fact, what makes us so special. Caring, genuine, fun, knowledgeable…and always willing to help in any way possible; I could not say enough about them. They are family to me and have become like an extended family to so many of our customers.
If you’ve been in our store, thank you so much for being part of our story. If you have yet to meet us, I hope that you will soon. The Team and I would be thrilled to meet you, and provide you the attention and service that you and your pets deserve.
Sincerely,
Bryan, Owner & Founder of Appalachian Tails (and Tuck's "Dad")
